The MINDBENZ Social Studies Olympiad (MSSO) is open to school students who are interested in understanding society, history, geography, economics, and civic life. It invites curious and socially aware young minds to explore how the world works through the lens of social sciences.

Who Can Participate in MSSO

Students from Classes 3 to 8 ● Open to all major education boards: CBSE, ICSE, State Boards, IB, IGCSE, and others ● Participation is open to students across India and internationally

Geography : ● The Earth and Its Features (Latitudes, longitudes, hemispheres, Oceans and Continents, Map Skills) ● Physical Geography (Mountains, plains, plateaus, rivers, Natural Resources and Sustainability) 3. Civics : ● Governance and Administration (Legislature, Executive, Judiciary, Panchayati Raj system – Gram Sabha and Gram Panchayat, Municipalities and Corporations – functions and services, Principles of democracy, rule of law, and citizen participation) ● Society and Economic Life Roles, responsibilities, cooperation in society, Occupations, goods and services, rural and urban livelihoods, Dignity of labour and importance of various professions.

History : Tracing Changes Through a Thousand Years, The Delhi Sultanate and The Mughal Empire, Tribes, Nomads, and Settled Communities, Devotional paths to the Divine (Bhakti and Sufi Movements) 2. Geography : Environment: Our Surroundings and Interdependence, Inside Our Earth and Our Changing Earth, Air and Water – Life Support Systems, Human Environment Interactions: Tropical, Subtropical Regions & Deserts. 3. Civics :Democracy and Equality, Unpacking Gender: Growing Up and Changing the World, How the State Government Works, Understanding Media and Markets Around us.

1. History : Modern India-Sources and Significance, The Establishment of Company Power, Rural Life and Tribal Societies, The Revolt of 1857-58, Education and British Rule, Women, Caste and Reforms, Freedom Struggle in India. 2. Geography : Resources (Natural, Man-made and Human Resources), Land, Soil, Water, Natural Vegetation and Wildlife Resources, Agriculture and Industries. 3. Civics: The Indian Constitution and Secularism, Parliamentary Government and the Judiciary, Social Justice and the Marginalised, Economic Presence of the Government, Public Facilities, Law and Social Justice.
