MCO Eligibility criteria
The MINDBENZ Computer Olympiad (MCO) is designed for school students who are eager to explore, learn, and showcase their skills in computers, technology, and digital literacy. Whether you are just beginning your computer journey or already tech-savvy, MCO provides an inclusive platform to test your knowledge and grow.

Who Can Participate in MCO

Students from Classes 1 to 8 • Open to all educational boards: CBSE, ICSE, State Boards, IB, etc. • Students from India and abroad are eligible • No prior computer certifications or experience required • Each level is carefully designed to match the digital and computational skills of that age group

MCO Exam Syllabus

Class 1

Basics of Computer, Components of a computer system, Working with Computer, Input and Output Devices, Computer Accessories, Introduction to Gadgets, MS Paint, Everyday use of computers.

Class 2

Computers – A smart machine, Types and working of a computer, Parts of a computer, General information about computers, Using keyboard and mouse, Uses of computers in our world, Drawing and painting with MS Paint, Working with Notepad and WordPad, IT Gadgets, Apps and Computerization, Latest Trends and Developments in Field of IT.

Class 3

Introduction to Computers, Hardware and Software, Memory and Storage devices, Input and Output devices, Introduction to Windows 11, Working with Paint, Typing in Word Processors, Word Processing tools, Introduction to the Internet, IT around us.

Class 4

Evolution and Generations of Computers, Operating System Basics and Features of Windows 10/11, Word Processing in MS Word 2016, Presentation Skills using MS PowerPoint 2016, Introduction to Spreadsheets in MS Excel 2016, Internet and Email Fundamentals, Digital Tools and IT Developments.

Class 5

Evolution and Generations of Computers, Operating System Basics and Features of Windows 10/11, Word Processing in MS Word 2016, Presentation Skills using MS PowerPoint 2016, Introduction to Spreadsheets in MS Excel 2016, Internet and Email Fundamentals, Digital Tools and IT Developments.

Class 6

Foundations of Computing, Algorithmic Thinking, Word Processing Tools (MS Word), Spreadsheet Functions (MS Excel), Visual Presentations (MS PowerPoint), Web Fundamentals, Programming Concepts, Networking and Online Safety, AI, Robotics & Future Tech.

Class 7

Operating Systems and Interfaces, Number Systems, Word Processing Mastery, Advanced Spreadsheets (MS Excel), Smart Presentations (MS PowerPoint), HTML & CSS Advanced, Programming in Scratch, Computer Viruses and Cybersecurity, Emerging IT Technologies.

Class 8

Data and Memory Systems, Number System and Data Representation, Operating Systems, Web Development Essentials, Data Handling (MS Excel), Word Processing Proficiency, Advanced Presentations (PowerPoint), Introduction to Databases (MS Access), Networks and Internet Technologies, Innovation and Technology.
